How to Customize Your iPhone Lock Screen in iOS 15
iOS 15 introduced a number of fun ways to customize your lock screen, from picking interactive wallpapers to customizing the clock to adding widgets. It's a great way to get information at a glance without unlocking your phone or launching an app.
Apple and third-party developers create widgets that can display a variety of useful information, such as the current weather, calendar events or recent stock prices, directly on your Lock Screen. You can also use a widget to control your notifications, such as limiting incoming alerts or putting your iPhone into Do Not Disturb mode.
To add a widget, touch and hold the Lock Screen until a Customize button appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap Customize, then choose either the long box above the clock or the rectangle below it to add a widget.
You can also add a picture or a slideshow of photos, and you can change the size of the widgets to fit your screen.
When you've finished customizing your Lock Screen, tap Done or Set. You'll see a preview of what your lock and home screens will look like with the new configuration before you confirm your choices. If you want to edit a Lock Screen again, tap the photos icon in the bottom left (a stylized rectangular portrait of mountains) or the Settings gear on the bottom right of the screen to open the customization menu. Here, you can reposition the photo (pinch to zoom or drag with two fingers), change the picture style (swipe left and right to try different filters that complement the image, or make it a Perspective Zoom or Depth Effect photo), and select a color for the background.
